“Treated Like Adults”
“If you are looking for doilies and the owner fussing over you (with endless stories of local history, etc etc), this is not for you. However, if you would like a comfortable bed, clean rooms, a thorough inventory of any beach needs you may have (from water to sunscreen to beer to bikes, umbrellas, towels and chairs), together with a friendly and available, but nicely hands-off host, we highly recommend the Blue Water House”.

“…the decor is a fantastic explosion of bold, whimsical colors and eccentric accessories. All rooms, located on the second floor, have private baths, king- and queen-sized beds, and French doors that open onto a porch that offers views of the town.”

“There are a handful of good B&Bs in Lewes-including my new favorite . . . The Blue Water House, whose proximity to the beaches is enough reason to appreciate it.”

“Great little inn near beach & town! Good value for money, generous host”
“Above pretty much says it all. Park your car, walk everywhere. 5 minute walk to beach, <10 minutes to very cute town center. H20, snacks all day, beer & wine in the evening, nice breakfast, free wifi. Friendly host. Very cute room, nice furniture & decor, clean but could be cleaner, just needs a find tooth comb in the bathroom for instance, and some minor TLC type stuff, e.g. peeling wallpaper. But overall VERY happy. Best of all, although we went in high season, they didn’t fleece us on the rates!”

“Clean, clean, clean!
“Try Blue Water! The photographs on the website do not do it justice. The rooms are charming and clean (something very important to me) and the common space at the top of the house so much fun. Don’t over spend and stay elsewhere at Lewes. The Blue Water gets you closer to the beach than any other spot, too!”

“Great, comfortable, warm, friendly place”
“We just had our second stay at the BWH,
and have nothing but great feelings! The decor is very inviting, ecletic, beachy but not the usual. The innkeeper, Rick is a great guy who is always there to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We travel throughout the year, for business, and have stayed in many different inns. We feel the most comfortable at the BWH. What’s really nice is you don’t have to bring your bikes, towels, umbrellas, etc.. They are there at all times Rick is always there for a restaurant review buy also welcomes your take on a new place. Very open minded, obvious he loves the town!
We already are planning our stay for next year at the BWH!

“This a very nice and fun place to stay. Brightly painted with colorful art. Clean rooms with access to a wrap around 3rd floor porch. We stayed in the Key Largo Room and thoroughly enjoyed the porch swing over looking a marsh like area (you do also over look the back of some restaurants on this side of the inn but not unpleasant). Very Quiet and Relaxing.
We had access to and enjoyed riding the bikes to Cape Henlopen and around the town.
There was always bottled water in a cooler, a cold beer in the fridge, snacks on the counter and a very attentive host. I do not eat breakfast but my husband enjoyed his. Coffee was very good. We got to check out the other rooms in the inn and they all looked very nice.
We are already planning our next trip back in the fall.”

“Best Family Vacation Spot We Have Experienced”
“Families experienced in travel probably already understand that a B&B (like Blue Water) is well-suited to a vacation with children because one can eat breakfast without going anywhere in the morning, and then start every day off early, without hassle.
The service (from the owner, Rick) was impeccable and very friendly.
There were generous amenities such as desserts, fruits, drinks including soda, wine and beer which helped make the place just an enjoyable hangout for a parent after the kids went to bed. Blue Water House also had many nice places to sit down, relax and read.”

“Absolutely Exceeded Expectations!”
“A friendly greeting from Rick, candid advice about dinner choices, a lovely Florida-themed room (the Key West) in colorful Miami style, a very comfy bread and a decent breakfast (on our visit, homemade pecan waffles and sausage; fruits, cereals, and sweet rolls). A charming little common area on the third floor was serene and inviting. One can walk two blinks to the beach or about six to the village. A VERY pleasant surprise, and we’ll be back.”

“Exceeded Expectations”
“I honestly couldn’t say more positive things about this Bed & Breakfast. It was by far the best place I have ever stayed in by the beach. Rick, the owner, was just awesome!!!! Everything was just amazing; all you could want and more. Lewes is now our favorite beach!!! Can’t wait to go back to the Blue Water House
